The mission of Camp Amp Detroit is to present and promote Joseph Amp Fiddler’s legacy, ongoing musical contributions, and humanitarian spirit through preservation activities, including concerts, mentorship programs for emerging artists, and workshops. Our programs will offer spaces for artists to create, collaborate, and educate.

In reflecting on his artistry, Fiddler emphasized the importance of humility and giving back, values that defined his approach to music and mentoring aspiring talents. His legacy as a musician, mentor, and innovator continues to inspire and resonate within the music industry and beyond.

“Camp Amp” is an all-encompassing movement of countless artists that we (now) treasure & honor, who each were inspired by Amp, sought Amp & benefited from Amp’s generosity & all that he had access to. 

 It is a movement that is a direct reflection & result of legends pouring into his own journey as an artist. 

“Giving what he was given”… 

 The branches of this Camp Amp Legacy – cross every generation & genre, expanding beyond all of the artists that every Camp Amp Alumni have also influenced, inspired & collaborated with…all/each carrying Amp’s imprint, energy & influence. 

 In honor of all that Amp has done for Detroit…& for the world…we must continue Amp’s work &, most importantly… Amp’s love.
